DIRECTV customers get an exclusive look at “A Family Man” a new film from director Mark Williams (“The Accountant”) that explores the conflict that can exist between career and family. The film made its debut at the 2016 International Toronto Film Festival and stars Gerard Butler (“Olympus Has Fallen”), Gretchen Mol (“Manchester By The Sea”), Alison Brie (“How To Be Single”), Academy Award® Nominee William Dafoe (“The Grand Budapest Hotel”) and Max Jenkins (“Betrayal”).

What’s it about?

“A Family Man” takes place in Chicago and follows Dane Jensen (Gerard Butler) as a driven headhunter. Dane’s boss, played by Willem Dafoe, is retiring and looking for a replacement to run his cut-throat job placement firm. Dane competes with his polar opposite rival, Lynn Vogel (Alison Brie), to gain control of the company.

While Dane is concentrating on his professional advancement, his 10-year old son (Max Jenkins) is diagnosed with cancer. The conflict between achieving his professional dreams and being there for his family creates drama on all sides.
