Written and directed by Osgood Perkins (The Girl in the Photographs), The Blackcoat’s Daughter showcases up and coming stars Emma Roberts (American Horror Story), Lucy Boynton (Sing Street), and Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men) among others.
The Blackcoat’s Daughter has received praise for its brooding plot and suspenseful climax. DIRECTV CINEMA lets you experience what makes this horror film so good in the comfort of your own home.
Evil thrives in a superficially righteous setting
Students Kat (Kiernan Shipka) and Rose (Lucy Boynton) are eager to leave Bramford, an all-girl Catholic boarding school, for winter break. However, after both their parents inexplicably fail to pick them up, a series of haunting visions and incidents plague the girls.
While Kat and Rose are discovering and attempting to escape the evil at their remote school, another, Joan (Emma Roberts), is desperately determined to get there. As Joan’s journey to Bramford progresses, so does the terror endured at the school. The suspense builds until their two narratives come together for a haunting revelation.
